Jets Sign WR Garrett Wilson to a Contract Extension

The Jets made it official Thursday as WR Garrett Wilson signed his multi-year contract extension at 1 Jets Drive.

Wilson, who became the fifth player in NFL history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards and 80 catches in each of his first three seasons, has played at an elite level since entering the league in 2022.

Last season, Wilson, 24, became the second Jet (George Sauer) to register 1,000 yards in three consecutive seasons and the first to do it in 56 seasons. He amassed 101 catches in 17 games, joining Brandon Marshall as the only Jets to post 100-catch seasons in franchise history. His 1,104 yards and 7 TD receptions were career highs. He also extended his pass-catching streak to 51 games – he has had at least one grab in each of his 51 career contests. Wilson tallied 16 receptions of 20-plus yards or more, giving him 40 career explosives.

"Jets green has been running through me since the day they drafted me," Wilson posted on social media this week. "Despite the ups and downs, the faith is mutual… that means the world to me. Excited to start a new version of the chase next week."

Selected No. 10 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, Wilson, an Ohio State product, burst on the scene as a rookie with 83 receptions, 1,103 yards (13.3 per) and 4 TDs. He was awarded the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after setting franchise rookie records in catches and yards despite playing with four different QBs. He set a rookie franchise mark with three 100-yard games, and he reached 90 yards in six contests.

Wilson started 17 games his second season, hauling in 95 caches for 1,104 yards (10.9 per) and 3 TDs. Remaining productive, Wilson became the only player in NFL history with back-to-back 1,000 yards seasons to start his career while catching passes from six quarterbacks.
