Steelers Star Doesn’t Hold Back in Bold Aaron Rodgers Statement

The 2025 NFL season is about to begin with training camp and preseason action. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, the upcoming year is about one thing and one thing only. They want to win a Super Bowl.

Aaron Rodgers was brought in on a one-year deal after an offseason full of rumors connecting the two together. He may be 41 years old and set to turn 42 during the season, but he's still capable of leading a team's offense at a high level.

With that in mind, he has also made it clear that the 2025 campaign will be his last year in the NFL.

As the rumors continued to drag on throughout the offseason about whether or not Rodgers would sign with the Steelers, one current Pittsburgh star wasn't loving it.

Of course, that star was none other than defensive tackle Cameron Heyward.

Now, Heyward's tune has changed. He spoke out strongly about Rodgers and it's clear that he's liking what he's seeing from the longtime superstar quarterback.

"It just felt like he has bought in, and it worked out for the best," Heyward said. "I know sometimes we live in a society where we want things now, but patience has a way of paying off. And to now see he's a Pittsburgh Steeler and just him walking through the locker room asking questions (about) how we do things. He's bought in, and that's all I can ask for our quarterback. As a teammate, I'm excited to go to work with him."

Rodgers has a talented offense around him. He has DK Metcalf as his No. 1 wide receiver, with Calvin Austin III, Robert Woods, and Roman Wilson as his next best weapons at the wide receiver position. At tight end, he has Pat Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith.

Add to that group a backfield that features both Jaylen Warren and Kaleb Johnson and the offense has a chance to be very good.

Having Rodgers under center lifts up the floor for the players around him. Last season with the New York Jets, the future Hall of Fame quarterback threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, while completing 63 percent of his passes.

Should he be able to maintain that level of play or even take it up a notch, Rodgers could very well end up leading the Steelers on the deep playoff run they're hoping to have.
