The Los Angeles Chargers have been on the field for training camp before most teams in 2025 due to the fact that they play in the Hall of Fame Game (which is merely two weeks away), and wide receiver news has been coming in bunches.
The Chargers got some shocking news that Mike Williams was retiring after initially popping up on the PUP list to start training camp, but even that news might pale in comparison to the guy catching Justin Herbert's first big bomb throw of training camp.
Herbert is no stranger to dropping dimes to lesser-known players throughout his NFL career, but the receiver you'd least expect to be catching his deep throws at training camp is actually a guy whose name is a pretty big one...

Interestingly enough, Jalen Reagor could be a fascinating story to watch all throughout Chargers training camp. Talent has never been an issue for the former Philadelphia Eagles first-round pick out of TCU, but he's really struggled to put things together at the NFL level.
You just never know when the marriage of talent and situation is going to blossom into something in the NFL, which is why it's a great move for GM Joe Hortiz and head coach Jim Harbaugh to get this guy an honest look with the Chargers' top offense.
And as you can see, it's not a future practice squad hopeful that Reagor is beating in that video. That's No. 20 Cam Hart, a guy who barely allowed 60 percent of throws into his coverage to be completed last season.
As fate would have it, Reagor is actually part of the same draft class as Justin Herbert, which is known as one of the best quarterback and wide receiver draft classes in recent memory. That's the same first round that produced the likes of Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, and Jerry Jeudy.
Reagor was a rare whiff for the Eagles and their renowned GM Howie Roseman, but just because he was a whiff for the Eagles doesn't mean he will be for the Chargers. In fact, Reagor is exactly the type of player who could thrive with the Chargers.
We know this Charger team is going to be a machine on the ground with their offensive line looking like one of the meanest in the league. They need players who can threaten defenses over the top, and the more of these types of plays Reagor can make, the more valuable he'll be to the offense. Not to mention, he is great in the return game and there could be significantly added value there this year with the new kickoff rules (touchbacks out to the 35-yard-line).
While unexpected, Reagor catching Herbert's first bomb of training camp is certainly not unwelcome news for the Chargers.
