4x NFL Pro Bowler, former Harrisburg Cougars' jersey retired at community ceremony (WHP)
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — The Harrisburg School District held a public ceremony to officially retire former Penn State star and current NFL defensive end Micah Parsons' high school jersey.
The ceremony was held on July 13 at the Severance Stadium of Harrisburg High School where Parsons played as a Harrisburg Cougar before taking his talents to Penn State.
The first-round NFL draft pick had his #23 Cougars jersey retired in front of the current Harrisburg School District administration and local community.
"I just hope these kids that’s growing up through this program and these camps and these community days, that they’ll just start their own. Bring the community together, keep gelling, we’re all as one," Parson said.
