LOS ANGELES, CA — Former USC standout receiver Jordan Addison, who was charged with DUI after being found asleep at the wheel of a Rolls-Royce near Los Angeles International Airport a year ago, pleaded guilty Thursday to a reduced charge and was sentenced to a year of probation.
Jordan Addison, now with the Minnesota Vikings, pleaded guilty to a reduced misdemeanor charge commonly known as a "wet reckless," according to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. In addition to a year of probation, he was ordered to attend a three-month alcohol program, a Mothers Against Drunk Driving Victim Impact Panel program and pay a $390 fine plus penalties. He will also have to have an ignition interlock device installed on his vehicle to prevent impaired driving.
Addison was originally charged with one count each of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched at about 11:10 p.m. July 12, 2024, to a report of a disabled vehicle blocking lanes from the westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway to northbound Sepulveda Boulevard, according to a CHP statement.
Officers responding to the area reported a white Rolls-Royce blocking the freeway's No. 1 lane "with the driver asleep behind the wheel," according to the CHP.
Addison, 23, was arrested at 11:36 p.m. after a DUI investigation was completed. He was released at 1:36 a.m. the next morning, the CHP added.
Prior to attending USC, Addison was a consensus All-American and Fred Biletnikoff Award winner as college football's best receiver in 2021 at Pittsburgh. He transferred to USC in May 2022, and caught 59 passes for 875 yards and 14 touchdowns, all team highs, in his lone season with the Trojans.
Addison was drafted in the first round, the 23rd overall selection, in the 2023 NFL draft by Minnesota.
Addison, driving a Lamborghini Urus, was pulled over on July 20, 2023, and cited for speed and reckless driving before reporting to his first training camp with the Vikings.
