Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal have just agreed a deal to sign 50-goal academy striker Man City…

Manchester City have been making big moves to bring young talent to their club this summer.

It was reported on Thursday that Man City have agreed a deal with Tottenham for midfielder Dexter Oliver, a transfer that will be finalised this week.

Later in the day, Man City completed the signing of Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg, who is the most high-profile youth talent the Manchester club are set to acquire over the summer.

Kaylum Moss remains a target for the Manchester club from Liverpool, while Aston Villa’s Freddie Lawrie is also close to joining City’s youth ranks as the Premier League giants look to find the next big star in the sport.

One League Two striker was of particular interest for Man City, but it now looks like the 17-year-old is heading to Arsenal.

Arsenal reach an agreement for Salford City’s Will Wright

Will Wright made his debut for Salford City against Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup in January, and it is clear that the youngster made an impression on those at the Premier League club.

At the start of the month, it was reported that Man City were keen on hijacking Liverpool’s move for Wright, but the striker’s preference was to make the move to Anfield ahead of the 2025/26 season.

However, Liverpool walked away from negotiations for Wright this week as Arsenal became involved and offered more for the 17-year-old than the Reds, and according to Fabrizio Romano, a deal has now been agreed between the North London club and Salford.

The documents are currently being prepared to get the deal over the line, with the acquisition of the young English talent being a big coup for the Gunners.

Man City will now focus on bringing other youngsters to the Etihad Stadium over the coming weeks, but missing out on Wright will certainly disappoint the Manchester side.

Will Wright is a goalscoring machine

The biggest attraction the big Premier League clubs had to Wright was his ability to find the goal with ease.

The 17-year-old scored 50 goals at all levels last season for Salford City and has so far netted three times for the first team in pre-season.

Strikers have been in demand this summer and will be going forward. If Wright can live up to the expectations placed on him, Arsenal could have a serious player on their hands in a few years.
