After playing in his sixth NFL season, Las Vegas Raiders Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby showed appreciation for an incoming NBA rookie.
Crosby, 27, is in the midst of offseason workouts and preparing for the Raiders’ training camp before the start of the season in September. But he made time to attend Wednesday’s NBA summer league game between the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers.
At some point during the night, he posed for a photo on the court with Mavericks rookie forward Cooper Flagg.
“Dallas Got a Great One 🦅 💎,” Crosby posted on his X account Wednesday.

Flagg was selected No. 1 overall from the Duke Blue Devils by the Mavericks in June’s NBA draft. He played in two of the Mavericks’ summer league games this past week against Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs.
Flagg struggled to get his shots to fall against the Lakers. He ended his summer league debut with 10 points on 5-of-21 shooting.
However, Flagg showed what he is made of against No. 2 overall pick Dylan Harper and the Spurs on Saturday by scoring 31 points on 10-for-21 from the floor. Following the Mavericks’ 79-69 loss to San Antonio, the team shut him down for the remainder of the summer league.
“I think it’s a new environment, new setting,” Flagg told reporters after the game against the Spurs. “They want to see me be aggressive and do that type of stuff.”

Speaking of aggression, Crosby is preparing for his seventh season with the Raiders. The pass rusher made 12 appearances last season and recorded 45 total tackles, 28 solo tackles and 7.5 sacks.
Crosby was named to his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl and might be able to make his fifth if he can replicate that same success this season.
