Blackburn Rovers are continuing to push to keep Igor Tyjon at the club, having turned down a bid from Arsenal earlier in the transfer window.

The Lancashire Telegraph report that Blackburn Rovers are still pushing to try and convince Igor Tyjon to stay and sign a professional contract, promoting him to the first team in an attempt to sweeten the deal.
Amid interest from Arsenal, Tyjon started Rovers’ first pre-season game against Accrington Stanley, and he’s expected to play a regular role as the friendlies continue.
“Igor is part of the first-team squad,” Rovers boss Valerien Ismael confirmed. “We make a clear plan with him. He didn’t have that from the past.
“At the end of the last season, I sat with him and his parents and explained the way we want to work with him, to improve him. He will have the chance in the pre-season. So this is now what’s happened.
“Now it’s up to him to show us that he’s ready.”

Arsenal reportedly made a bid of £1m plus add-ons for Tyjon recently, but it was turned down by Rovers. At the time, reports suggested Rovers were open to sale, but only at the right price.
Tyjon is an England youth player also eligible for Poland. He’s represented the Poland u16s in the past, but he made the switch back to the England u17s last September. He primarily operates at centre-forward, but he’s also played on the wings at times.
Manchester United have also been linked with a move in recent months, but they’ve had no more success in agreeing a deal.

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee to sign Will Wright from Salford City, another 17-year-old forward, which may impact their pursuit of Tyjon.
If Rovers are refusing to sell for Arsenal’s valuation at this point, the Gunners could wait a year and try to pick Tyjon up for no more than a training compensation fee next summer.
