New images hint Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal transfer is about to be confirmed

Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres has given the strongest indication yet that his dream transfer to Arsenal is on the verge of being finalised - by having a friend clear out his house in Portugal.

The 27-year-old has emerged as Arsenal's primary striker target, and despite interest from other clubs this summer, including Juventus, Manchester United and teams in the Saudi Pro League, Gyokeres is keen to join the Premier League and play for Mikel Arteta's side.

Arsenal and Sporting have been engaged in negotiations to finalise a deal for the Swedish international. While an agreement appears to be imminent, Gyokeres seems to be already preparing for the significant move.

CNN showed a removal van outside what is claimed to be Gyokeres' home in Portugal on Thursday. Record has verified the authenticity of the images and said that the striker authorised a friend to supervise the process.

The report states that all of Gyokeres' possessions, including his furniture, were removed from the property in anticipation of his potential move.

However, it is understood that Gyokeres is still in Stockholm, waiting for the go-ahead to travel to London and complete the formalities of a transfer to Arsenal.

Arsenal have offered a fixed fee £55million with an additional £8.6m in add-ons. The discussions are now focused on the structure of these add-ons, with Sporting pushing for £6.5m of the total to be easily achievable.

Gyokeres stirred controversy by skipping pre-season training with Sporting last week amidst ongoing transfer negotiations. Sporting's president Frederico Varandas has confirmed that the club intends to penalise the forward.

"We're calm. Everything will be resolved with the closing of the market, a heavy fine, and an apology to the group," Varandas said to Lusa news agency. "If they (interested clubs) don't want to pay fair market value for Viktor, we are very comfortable with that for the next three years."

"If the geniuses who are devising this strategy think that this puts pressure on me to facilitate the exit, they are not only completely wrong but are also making the player's exit even more complicated.

"No one is above the club's interests, whoever they may be."
