RB Leipzig star Simons is a player in demand this summer.

RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons will reportedly reject a move to Bayern Munich.

The 22-year-old Netherlands international has been persistently linked with joining a Premier League club in recent transfer windows.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and Manchester United, among others, have all been credited with an interest in the attacking midfielder, who can also play out wide.

He joined Leipzig on a permanent deal for a club-record €81 million fee in January.

Fabrizio Romano reported in May, however, that Simons informed the German club of his desire to leave this summer after they failed to qualify for the Champions League.

The midfielder has been a target for Bayern Munich this summer, particularly after the Bundesliga holders missed out on the signing of Florian Wirtz to Liverpool.

However, according to Bild, Simons will turn down any approach from Bayern as he favours a move to the Premier League.

Specifically, it is claimed that the player's agent will approach Chelsea over a possible transfer.

The new Club World Cup champions have already signed Joao Pedro from Brighton, though the Brazilian has been playing as a centre forward in his first games under Enzo Maresca.

But the Blues earned a staggering $125 million in prize money for winning that tournament and can use it to buy more elite talents.

Perhaps significantly, Spanish outlet Sport (via Sport Witness) claim that both Chelsea and Manchester United have held talks with Simons' entourage over a potential move.

The Blues have the significant advantage over their Premier League rivals in that they can offer Champions League football.

United failed to qualify for Europe at all after losing the Europa League final 1-0 to Tottenham in May.

They have agreed a £71 million deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.

The deal is worth an initial £65 million plus £6 million, and is set to see the Cameroon international become United's second incoming this summer after fellow forward Matheus Cunha joined from Wolves.
