Arch Manning, despite not having many college stars compared to other players of his batch, has become one of the biggest stars in college football right now. With this considered, NFL analyst Paul Finebaum gave his hornets opinion about fans drawing comparisons between Manning and other established football stars.

During the SEC Media Day,Finebaum gave his take on the Manning comparisons.

“People want to grab onto other players,” Finebaum said. “Joe Burrow’s not an example. Joe Burrow wasn’t anybody, really, when he came here in 2019.”

“Other players have matriculated, even Jayden Daniels,” he went on. “There is no really modern day comparison, I don’t think, and I’ve seen a few of these. People in New York, people in LA, they know Arch, they don’t know very much else.”

Finebaum went on and provided further contrast between Manning and Manziel. He mentioned how there was hardly anything like it, and how Manziel was even a questionable situation back then, with the controversies surrounding him, which Finebaum noted he handled well.

The comparison between Arch Manning and stars like Burrow and Manziel have stemmed from the intense media attention that he has gotten since he was in high school, which was also the case for Manziel when he became a college football star.

Manning getting compared to Joe Burrow, on the other hand, has often been linked to his excellent football IQ and leadership skills. Much like Burrow, a lot of analysts and fans expect Manning to eventually make it big as a professional quarterback.

Arch Manning Gets Honest Why He Chose Not To Leave Texas

Texas college star Arch Manning could have gone to other schools during his first two seasons, but he decided to stay in Austin with the Longhorns. During the Media Day, Manning explained why he chose to stay with the Longhorns despite having other options.

“I think the main thing was I wanted to be at the University of Texas,” Manningsaid at SEC Media Days. “There’s nowhere else I wanted to be, whether it was the school itself, Austin, my friends, the football program. So as long as I was continuing to get better at football and like where I was at, it was a no-brainer for me to stay.”
