The Miami Dolphins are entering 2025 with their backs against the wall following a disappointing 8-9 finish that ended their playoff hopes.
For the first time under head coach Mike McDaniel, the team missed the postseason entirely, creating an atmosphere of urgency that has permeated throughout the organization this offseason.
This season feels like a defining “prove it” moment for Miami, and building a stronger team culture has become the primary focus of their preparation efforts.
Star running back Jaylen Wright recently appeared on ‘Up and Adams’ and delivered a clear message about the team’s mindset heading into the new campaign.
“We’re gonna show’em, all year, we’re gonna show’em. We gonna keep our foot on the gas, you know, every game, just keep showing them. Earn our respect. There are a lot of people talking down on the Dolphins, but we’re going to show everybody this year,” Wright declared.

The Dolphins have shifted their approach strategically during this crucial offseason.
Rather than pursuing flashy signings, Miami focused on addressing fundamental needs at guard, defensive tackle, and linebacker positions.
The offensive line received significant upgrades with the additions of James Daniels and rookie Jonah Savaiinaea, while the defense welcomed first-round pick Kenneth Grant and saw the return of edge rushers Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb from injury.
In the backfield, second-year rusher Wright is positioned to become De’Von Achane’s primary backup following the departures of Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr.
After posting 249 yards in his rookie campaign, Wright has impressed coaches with his development, particularly his refined footwork and sharper decision-making during full-team work.
Wright praised the team’s renewed emphasis on culture, chemistry, and unity during challenging stretches.
With McDaniel facing pressure and Tua Tagovailoa entering a critical year, Miami’s margin for error remains razor-thin.
