Arsenal are set to make an opening £69m offer for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, according to Caught Offside.
The Gunners have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer with Mikel Arteta adding Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Noni Madueke to his squad, while a deal for striker Viktor Gyokeres is also advancing.
But the north London giants are still keen to add more firepower to the squad and the Brazil star has emerged as a top target, with an opening bid being prepared.
Arsenal Set to Make Rodrygo Bid
Real Madrid want £86m, but Arsenal won't go that high
Rodrygo in action for Real Madrid in 2024
Rodrygo, who has been described as 'unbelievable' by Neymar for his playing style, has emerged as a player who could be sold by the La Liga outfit after the arrival of new manager Xabi Alonso.
Arsenal are said to be the frontrunners for his signature despite interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Chelsea, and they are now ready to test Real Madrid's resolve with a firm first bid.
The Gunners are prepared to make an offer worth £69m (€80m), but Real Madrid are expected to demand at least £86m (€100m) to let him leave. It's understood that Arsenal are not willing to go that high, but they are willing to try and convince Madrid to lower their demands to get a deal done.

Rodrygo's future at the Bernabeu is currently unclear as he wants to play more regular first-team football, but he is also keen to make a name for himself with the La Liga side.
It's believed that the player would be open to a move to the Premier League, but he wants to be a key player if he is to leave the Spanish capital. A deal isn't considered to be close, but it is one that could advance in the coming weeks as we edge closer to the September 1st deadline.
