Football season is right around the corner and for any avid football fans, you might know that tuning into games has gotten increasingly pricy over the years. Whether you need to subscribe to multiple streaming services to catch different games or you miss out on some due to the extra costs, it’s not as simple as it once was to tune in.

That’s why when NFL Sunday Ticket came around, fans were excited to be able to have access to those games that are no longer available on regular channels. However, that too has gotten expensive in recent years, making it difficult to stream you favorite teams.

But it seems that YouTube TV is giving football Sundays a try this year by offering a major discount to any pre-existing NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers who have left the streaming platform due to its high prices. Previous users have been receiving emails from YouTube TV, claiming they will receive a big price slash if they sign up for the promotion once more.

What is the discount being offered?

If you were once a subscriber to NFL Sunday Ticket, you might be one of the lucky discount winners, as this wasn’t sent to everyone. These discounts were sent to some former customers and the discount varied for everyone.

One user posted on Reddit that they received an email claiming they would get $96 off their subscription price. The user also added the insight, “Got it in my email today. Valid until August 7. To clarify, I am a previous Sunday ticket subscriber and cancel my YTTV after March madness every year.”

However, commenters on that post explained they hadn’t received such an email while others shared that they received a different offer. One user wrote, “I didn’t get an email, but it is showing $48 off. I would sign up today if it were $96 off,” while another said, “Still waiting for mine.”

It seems the major discount came to those who canceled their subscription earlier in the year, however not everyone is getting the same exciting deal. There have also been some reports of customers receiving the $48 off deal but when they try to purchase, there is no discount shown. Whether it’s a YouTube TV glitch or there is a reason for these discrepancies, fans are not exactly pleased with it.

How much does NFL Sunday Ticket cost?

Just like any other streaming service, there are multiple options for what you want out of your subscription with NFL Sunday Ticket, which changes the price you will pay. The official website to sign up states $23/year for new users only but that can change whether you get it with a YouTube TV subscription or without.

YouTube TV + NFL Sunday Ticket is $23/month for 12 non-cancellable payments, plus $59.99/month for YouTube TV for the first two months. After those two months, that cost will increase to $82.99/month.

Should you choose to opt out of getting YouTube TV with your subscription, the cost would be the regular $23/month.

Returning users of YouTube TV + NFL Sunday Ticket get a slightly different deal of $31.50/month, while NFL Sunday Ticket only users will have to pay $40/month.

If you’re interested in getting all the football games this year, make sure to check your email before signing up for the streaming service and make sure to read all of the fine print!
