Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has terminated his contract with Al-Qadsiah ahead of schedule, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that he’s now officially signed the termination papers to become a free agent.
Romano adds that Aubameyang remains in concrete talks with Marseille over a two-year deal to return to the Ligue 1 club.
The striker spent one season with Marseille in 2023/24, scoring 30 goals in 51 games in all competitions.

Aubameyang spent a year in Saudi Arabia, scoring 21 goals and assisting three in 36 games.
The 36-year-old’s desire to return may be partly due to Marseille’s return to the Champions League. The striker played Europa League football with the club in 2023/24, and they failed to qualify for any European competition ahead of 2024/25.
But after a second-place finish last season, Marseille will now return to the Champions League, offering Aubameyang a comeback after just one previous season in the competition in the last seven years.

At the time of writing, nothing is officially agreed with Marseille, but it’s surely just a matter of time now that the Al-Qadsiah termination is done.
