Usually, a big concern with a football team can be somewhat managed by either coaching, the players themselves, or a move the front office can make. For the Philadelphia Eagles, none of those things apply to them.
Sports Illustrated writer Karl Rasmussen shared each 2024 playoff team's biggest concerns entering the 2025 season. Rasmussen is concerned about the challenging schedule the Eagles have been given for the new season.
"The Eagles' biggest concern isn't really something they can control. After winning the Super Bowl last year, the road to repeating as champions will be truly difficult for Philadelphia due to their gauntlet of a schedule. Heading into 2025, Philadelphia has the fourth highest strength of schedule, set to face opponents who combined for a .571 winning percentage in 2024, without getting to play back-to-back home games at any point. Still, if any team is built to handle that type of challenge, it's the reigning champion Eagles."
How the Eagles navigate through the gauntlet of a schedule in 2025
One of the worst aspects of the Eagles' 2025 schedule is that there are no consecutive weeks with the team hosting a home game. Despite that, they have two separate occasions where they have to go on the road in back-to-back weeks.
The Eagles have a challenging schedule after their Week 9 bye week:
Week Opponent
10 at Packers (Monday Night)
11 Lions (Sunday Night)
12 at Cowboys
13 Bears (Black Friday)
14 at Chargers (Monday Night)
15 Raiders
16 at Commanders
17 at Bills
18 Commanders
If there is any consolation, at least the Eagles will be on national television often at the end of the season. The toughest part is that five of their opponents are 2024 playoff teams and have to play their division rivals, the Washington Commanders, twice in the last three weeks.
Whoever created the schedule for the Eagles did them absolutely no favors. They will be tested late in the season, which can either be a good time to challenge them or a bad thing when they need momentum going into the postseason.
It's tough to tell how the Eagles will handle the schedule as they were a fast-starting team in 2023 before crumbling, but last year started 2-2 before losing just one more game en route to a Super Bowl title. This 2025 schedule could go either way.

Most experts have been predicting 10-11 wins for the Eagles in 2025 due to their tough schedule. As long as the Eagles can get into the playoffs, it doesn't matter the record, as Eagles fans know this team turns on another switch when it's postseason time.
