As things continue to play out with players in the second round from this year’s NFL Draft, the final domino fell for the lone remaining unsigned player for the Patriots.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Friday that the club finally got second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson under contract, finally locking up the 38th overall selection after what was definitely a long set of negotiations.
The rookie running back’s four-year deal is also reportedly fully guaranteed, with Henderson joining other players around him from that group in that category.
As of the time of this post, 18 of 32 players are now under contract – including Henderson. Everyone above pick #42 has received fully guaranteed deals, with only New Orleans’ QB Tyler Shough (pick #40) and Cleveland’s Quinshon Judkins (pick #36) remaining unsigned in the top part of that group.
Judkins, who, like Henderson, is also a former running back out of Ohio State, is currently in some legal trouble after recently getting charged with domestic violence, which has his status in Cleveland uncertain.

The 42nd pick, Jets tight end Mason Taylor, received a deal that guaranteed 91.3% of salary, while San Francisco’s Alfred Collins was among the first players to sign a deal that wasn’t fully guaranteed at pick #43.
For San Francisco’s Collins, he was the just third player to finally get a deal done, but his signing was significant because he became the first player among the 2025 second-round draft class, at least at the time, to not have his deal fully guaranteed.
Both the first and second selections in Round 2, Cleveland linebacker Carson Schwesinger (33rd overall) and Houston receiver Jayden Higgins (34th overall), each signed fully guaranteed contracts, which seemed to bring everything to a standstill until late this week.
Prior to this 2025 draft class, players having 100% of their deals guaranteed had never happened. With the amounts more or less set by the CBA, players’ salaries were relatively predictable. However, the amount of guaranteed money had really become the only real sticking point in recent years, and this was the first offseason where things had started getting a little out of hand.
Houston started most of the issues after first setting the precedent with Higgins (pick #34) and fully guaranteeing his deal. That forced Cleveland to follow suit since Schwesinger went right before him (pick #33).
That seemingly brought everything to a standstill until Collins finally signed the first rookie deal in round two that wasn’t 100% guaranteed this week.
With the signing of Henderson, New England now has all of its2025 Draft picks under contract heading into the start of training camp next week.
