TreVeyon Henderson didn't expect to spend four years at Ohio State. Like other five-star prospects, Henderson envisioned three successful seasons before heading to the NFL. But life doesn't always go as planned.
However, things worked out for Henderson, who was selected in the second round, No. 38 overall, by the New England Patriots in the 2025 NFL Draft last spring. Now he's been further rewarded.
On Friday evening, Henderson agreed to terms on his rookie contract. According to The Boston Globe, Henderson signed a four-year deal with $11.143 million in guaranteed money, which includes a $4.74 million signing bonus.

Coming out of Hopewell, Virginia, Henderson established himself as a highly sought-after five-star prospect and the top-ranked running back in the country, according to the 247Sports rankings. He received offers from schools across the nation but committed to the Scarlet and Gray in March 2020.
It didn't take long for Henderson to become Ohio State's starting running back during his freshman year, taking over the position after three games. He led the Buckeyes in carries (183), rushing yards (1,248), and rushing touchdowns (15). This included 10 games with 80 or more total yards, highlighted by a program freshman record of 270 yards against Tulsa, and he scored a touchdown in all but three games. Henderson also caught 27 passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns. After the season, Henderson was named second-team All-Big Ten.
Injuries became an issue for Henderson during his sophomore season. After playing in every game as a freshman, Henderson missed five games in 2022, including the rivalry game against Michigan and the College Football Playoff semifinal versus Georgia. He finished his sophomore year with 571 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 107 carries, struggling to match his accomplishments from the previous year.
Henderson again dealt with injuries in 2023. Although he missed only three games in the middle of the season, he was limited for much of the year. He finished with 926 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 156 carries, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors. After catching just four passes as a sophomore, the running back became more involved in this part of the game as a junior, recording 19 catches for 229 yards.
Like many of his classmates, Henderson chose to return to Ohio State for his senior season, aiming to finish his college career on a positive and healthy note. The Buckeyes added former Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins, and the two formed one of the most formidable rushing duos in the country in 2024, helping lead the Scarlet and Gray to the national championship. This included recording 94 yards and two touchdowns against Oregon, followed by a game-winning 75-yard touchdown reception in the Playoff semifinal against Texas. Henderson and Judkins became the third duo to each reach 1,000 rushing yards in a season — Henderson ending the year with 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns — and both exceeded 3,000 rushing yards for their careers in 2024. The running back also caught 27 passes for 284 yards and a touchdown. Henderson was named third-team All-Big Ten after his senior season.
