Everton pulled off a coup when they signed Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City, and it has proved to be a masterstroke of a deal.

Grealish has been outstanding since his arrival, and was the star of the show again as he provided two assists in Everton’s win at Wolves.

David Moyes has managed to get the best out of Grealish, who struggled in his final two years at Man City, with his failures under Pep Guardiola the motivation behind his loan exit.

In just three games, Grealish has already eclipsed his assist total from the last two seasons, and he has now broken an all-time Everton record.

Jack Grealish breaks Everton assist record

Grealish’s match-winning performance at Wolves saw him do something no Everton player ever has, and this truly emphasises the incredible level he is currently playing at.

As per EFC Statto on X, Grealish became the first-ever Everton player to record two assists in back-to-back Premier League games, following his performances against Brighton and Wolves.

Grealish provided both assists in Everton’s 2-0 win over Brighton, with goals coming from Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner.

He also assisted goals from Beto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall against Wolves, and played a big part in the build-up to Ndiaye’s goal.

The England star became the first Everton player since Bryan Oviedo in 2013 to assist in his first two starts for the club, and this new record now belongs to him.

Man City’s loss is Everton’s gain

Grealish’s struggles at Man City made it questionable whether he could return to his best form again, but his instant resurgence shows that he clearly still has the quality he showed at Aston Villa.

Guardiola’s use of Grealish was also questionable, as he turned a player with a lot of flair into a touchline winger with more defensive responsibilities.

Moyes has unlocked Grealish by giving him more freedom in attacking areas, and Everton are benefitting from it with a strong start to the season.

They may not believe their luck as they landed Grealish on loan with an option to buy, and Man City will be scratching their heads at why he could not succeed there.
