Huge Leeds United transfer boost as manager confirms decision on £20m star

Leeds United have four points going into the first international break, but their focus is now on transfer developments. Daniel Farke wants to bring in two more attacking players before the window closes on Monday night, but plans have not gone according to plan.

The Whites showed defensive solidity and rigidity in their 0-0 draw against Newcastle United at Elland Road on Saturday. However, they again failed to create many clear-cut opportunities and continued to look a little out of ideas in the final third at the start of the Premier League season.

Leeds thought they had a deal in place to sign Brighton’s 20-year-old attacking midfielder, Facundo Buonanotte, but Chelsea hijacked the deal, and he is now set to join the Blues on a season-long loan deal.

The Whites are now considering their options and are assessing several attacking midfielders. The club are now under pressure to deliver the signings, going into the final 48 hours of the summer transfer window.

Ruben Selles provides an update on Leeds United target Gustavo Hamer and his future at Sheffield United

Gustavo Hamer’s future at Sheffield United has come under the scanner with suggestions that Leeds are pushing to sign him before Monday’s transfer deadline.

The Blades are open to letting him go out on loan if a club are prepared to insert an obligation to buy for a fee in the region of £15m and £20m this summer.

Selles wants to hold on to Hamer, but the Sheffield United boss conceded that he just doesn’t know whether the player will be at Bramall Lane at the end of the window.

He indicated that the club do not have an offer on their table, but admitted that things could change in the final 48 hours of the transfer window.

“Well, I don’t know”, Selles was quoted as saying by the Sheffield Star.

“Think Gustavo has been trying to give absolutely all of himself for Sheffield United since he arrived two years ago.

“And then now I think he’s trying to be that person, that type, to take responsibility. And hopefully it’s for much longer.

“As far as I know, there is nothing there. But as I always told you, I can’t predict the future. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the next 48 hours.”

Hamer has been on Leeds’ radar for a while

Leeds are desperate to bring in players in the final 48 hours of the window, but a move for Hamer will not be out of the blue.

The Whites wanted to sign him last summer as well, but Sheffield United refused to sell one more player to their promotion rivals after Jayden Bogle.

With Leeds in the Premier League now, they have a definite advantage to get a deal done if they make a concrete offer for the attacking midfielder ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
