Rangers appear to be closing in on the permanent transfer of Everton striker Youssef Chermiti.
Chermiti emerged on Rangers’ radar last week with Kevin Thelwell now at the helm at the Ibrox outfit.
He was the man responsible for bringing the Portuguese striker to Merseyside back in 2023.
David Moyes has confirmed that Chermiti will leave Everton in this window.
While it initially seemed like the 21-year-old would depart on loan, he now appears poised to leave on a permanent basis.

Everton to have significant sell-on clause from Youssef Chermiti sale
After two tough seasons on Merseyside, Chermiti will be leaving for Rangers permanently to get his career back on track.
He played just 23 games in the Premier League for the Toffees, but failed to find the back of the net even once.
For someone who joined for £15million from Sporting CP in 2023, expectations were that he would soon contribute to goals for the first team and potentially make the striker’s position his own.

However, that did not happen and the Blues will be making a loss on his sale as he will leave for a total package of £10million, which includes £2million in bonuses.
The Athletic journalist Patrick Boyland reported on 31 August that the Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit will have a significant sell-on clause included.
David Moyes right to sanction Youssef Chermiti’s permanent exit
Moyes and Everton’s decision to let Chermiti join Rangers permanently, complete with a sell-on clause, represents a prudent move for the Merseyside club.
Signed for around £15million by Thelwell, the Portuguese striker has failed to adapt, managing just 24 appearances without a single goal and only one Premier League start, hampered by injuries and fierce competition from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Beto and others.
Under Moyes, the 21-year-old was unlikely to secure regular first-team minutes anytime soon, making his continued presence a drain on resources.
Thelwell’s gamble on the unproven youngster proved a poor investment, but offloading him now recoups up to £10million, plus future profits via the clause, allowing Everton to reinvest in more reliable talent and streamline the squad.
