Ipswich Town and Swansea City have both been rejected in loan approaches for Manchester City teenager Stephen Mfuni, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Ipswich Town and Swansea City are both in the market for late additions to their squads with deadline day right around the corner. ITFC have more business to do, while the Swans require further strengthening if they’re to really progress too.
Deals will go down to the wire, and as Premier League clubs make late decisions over player futures, the doors will open for young prospects and fringe players to drop down to the Championship on loan late on.

However, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, one prospect who will not be making such a move is Manchester City’s Stephen Mfuni.
Writing on X, Romano states that both Ipswich Town and Swansea City have made approaches to try and sign the teenage defender temporarily, only to be knocked back by the Premier League title hopefuls.

Romano says this is because Manchester City have no intention of loaning Mfuni out to anyone, as they ‘trust him for the present and long-term’.
The rumoured ITFC and Swans target is yet to make his senior debut but has been involved in training with Pep Guardiola’s men and is already a regular for the U21s, despite being just 17.
