David Moyes has not been afraid to oversee departures this transfer window at Everton.

The Toffees have seen multiple big stars leave Merseyside over the past few months as the Scotsman reshapes his squad.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was arguably Everton’s biggest loss, with the striker leaving the Toffees upon the expiry of his contract.

However, Moyes is set to oversee more departures in the coming days, with the transfer window set to cease on 1 September.

Multiple Championship clubs eye Harrison Armstrong loan deal

Harrison Armstrong has been a breakout star at Everton over recent months.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The midfielder spent the latter half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan to Derby County after making his Toffees debut earlier in the season.

Since then, Armstrong has impressed for Everton in pre-season, and started in their latest Carabao Cup victory over Manfield Town.

Now, according to Alan Nixon’s Patreon on 31 August, multiple Championship sides are interested in signing the 18-year-old on loan.

Armstrong picked up two assists against Manfield in the cup.

While Preston are leading the race, Wrexham, Blackburn and Derby are all interested in securing the midfielder before the window closes.

Armstrong has been linked with a loan move away from Everton earlier this summer, and now, Moyes is considering whether it would be better to keep the youngster or give him a chance to play first-team football every week.

The report goes on to say that a compromise could be met, which would allow the 18-year-old out on loan, but only until the end of December.

What has David Moyes said about Harrison Armstrong?

Armstrong no doubt looks to be Everton’s next big thing after quickly progressing up through the academy.

Moyes likely recognises this, with the Scotsman being previously impressed with the youngster in training.

In a training video released by Everton’s official YouTube channel on 11 July, Moyes can be heard praising Armstrong.

“Stay in Harrison,” Moyes said three times, but when the youngster landed the tackle on McNeil, the Scotsman burst out with: “Well done, Harrison!”

Hopefully, this is a sign that the manager will ensure that Armstrong reaches his potential over the coming seasons.
