Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been discussing a potential move for Kobbie Mainoo who has asked Manchester United to leave before the transfer window closes.
GIVEMESPORT's Senior Transfer News Correspondent Dean Jones reports that Spurs have "had talks about moving for Mainoo". The English midfielder's future is uncertain after growing frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunites under Ruben Amorim.
Thomas Frank's Lilywhites have made an excellent start to the season and are making some exciting signings after winning last season's Europa League. Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons have arrived to bolster their squad, and the club now have Mainoo on their radar.

Mainoo had requested to be sent out on loan by United to get more game time ahead of next summer's World Cup. But the Red Devils insist that he will not be allowed to leave and that he needs to fight for his place in Amorim's team, per Fabrizio Romano.
Tottenham are in the picture should that stance change and are poised to swoop for the 20-year-old if the opportunity arises. Jones wrote on X:
"Tottenham have had talks around moving for Kobbie Mainoo if the door opens to him leaving United At the moment that’s not happened. Some United sources believe this moment could actually spark new life into his time at OT and lead to a new contract."
Mainoo reportedly emerged as a potential £60m target for Spurs after they missed out on Eberechi Eze who opted to join rivals Arsenal. A new attacking midfielder arrived in the form of Simons from RB Leipzig in a £51m deal.
Daniel Levy has backed Frank with two highly-regarded playmakers, but his North Londoners appear to be admirers of Mainoo. The United academy graduate's only appearance so far this season came in the Red Devils' embarrassing Carabao Cup secound round exit to Grimsby Town.
It's not known whether the Lilywhites would be interested in signing one of English football's brightest prospects on loan or if they will only move for a permanent deal. He has been in a lengthy dispute over a new contract with his current deal up in the summer of 2027.
