Nottingham Forest’s Jota Silva has been keen on moving to Sporting, after Nuno Espírito Santo didn’t give him the prominence desired.
The Portuguese champions have been chasing him throughout the summer and have come close to securing his services.
Two days ago, A Bola reported Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis changed his position, a day after he was close to accepting Sporting’s offer.
Sunday’s edition of A Bola report the Lions have made a renewed proposal on Friday for the 26-year-old. They face competition from Paris FC as they have now joined the battle late in the window.
Another Portuguese newspaper, Record, provides more on the French club’s interest in the Nottingham Forest player.
It’s claimed Paris FC have made a bid to sign Jota Silva, which consists of a €3m loan fee with a purchase obligation set at €15m.
Sporting have offered €2m loan with a €15m purchase clause, likely for an option to buy. The newspaper reports they may raise their offer, after Paris FC offered better terms and a higher fee.
Marinakis has a decision to make whether to accept the Ligue 1 club’s proposal. According to Record, the ‘next few hours will be decisive’ to decide Jota Silva’s future.
