Wolves fans still don’t know if Jorgen Strand Larsen will be at Molineux after tomorrow night’s transfer deadline – but one report about Newcastle United could be perceived as a boost.
Newcastle have signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart and initially, it was felt that this would mean the end of their pursuit of Strand Larsen.
But it’s been claimed that Newcastle are still looking to sign Strand Larsen as well.
Wolves remain steadfast in their approach to the situation. They don’t want to sell, and after yesterday’s defeat to Everton, Vitor Pereira reiterated his desire to keep Strand Larsen, who could only watch on the from the stands against Everton due to injury.
But another transfer-related claim has been made about Newcastle – and it could mean a boost for Wolves in terms of keeping their number nine.

It’s been reported by Alan Nixon via his Patreon that Newcastle are now showing late interest in AS Roma striker Artem Dovbyk.
Apparently, Newcastle are looking into potentially taking Dovbyk on loan.
They are currently in talks with the player, who is rated at £30 million, and the suggestion is that a loan-to-buy move could be in the offing.

It is branded a ‘surprise’ move by Newcastle, whose pursuit of Wolves striker Strand Larsen has been intense.
But Wolves’ stance is perhaps prompting them to move on, with time running out in the window.

Yoane Wissa releases statement
Another potential bit of good news for Wolves relates to Yoane Wissa, who has today released a long statement declaring that he wishes to leave Brentford.
Wissa has claimed that promises for him to leave for a suitable offer this summer have not been honoured by the Bees.

He’s made a public plea to be allowed to leave, and Newcastle have been strongly linked with the forward.
Newcastle are reported by journalist Ben Jacobs to have recently bid around £45 million for Wissa.
Potentially, this application of pressure on Brentford from Wissa could see Newcastle reach a breakthrough, which would surely see Strand Larsen remain at Molineux.
