Report: Wrexham now interested in 'excellent' Everton teenager before deadline, Championship…

Wrexham are still looking for potential arrivals as Phil Parkinson heads towards the final hours of the transfer window.

Wrexham have secured a first Championship win of the season at the fourth time of asking.

After defeats to Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, as well as a draw with Sheffield Wednesday, Wrexham beat Millwall 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Phil Parkinson has his first league win of the season in the books, and his attention will turn straight to the transfer deadline.

Wrexham now have just over 24 hours left to get more business done before the window slams shut.

10 new signings have arrived at Wrexham this summer, but Parkinson is still eyeing further additions to his squad.

Wrexham interested in Everton’s Harrison Armstrong

Bristol City defender Zak Vyner is one Wrexham target, with a £1.75million bid already rejected.

Parkinson will hope to strike a deal for Vyner before the deadline, but one more target has emerged.

MORE WREXHAM STORIES

The Sun’s Alan Nixon reports that Wrexham have joined the race to sign Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong on loan.

Preston North End are thought to be leading the race for Armstrong, with Blackburn Rovers, Derby County and Wrexham also keen.

Everton are still weighing up whether to send Armstrong out on loan or keep him at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the midfielder impressing David Moyes.

The Toffees may even send Armstrong out on loan until January, and then bring him back to Merseyside in January.

Everton need to make a decision pretty quickly, though Armstrong was named on the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Parkinson has hinted at striking loan deals this summer, something we don’t often see from Wrexham, but a deal for Armstrong looks tricky heading into deadline day.

Harrison Armstrong profiled amid Wrexham interest

Armstrong has emerged in the Everton youth ranks, having first joined the Toffees at the age of just five.

The 18-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with Derby County and impressed under John Eustace.

Eustace hailed Armstrong as ‘excellent’ during his spell with the Rams, as quoted by The Athletic.

Armstrong has started the season around the Everton first team and bagged two assists in a 2-0 win over Mansfield Town in midweek.

PNE beat Wrexham to Alfie Devine and will now hope to land a favour from club legend David Moyes in order to repeat the trick with Armstrong.
