Manchester United are reportedly now prioritising a move for Emiliano Martinez over Senne Lammens as they look to sign a new goalkeeper before the transfer window closes on Monday.
Sky Sport journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that the Red Devils are "leaning towards Martinez" and that their interest in Lammens has "gone quite since last night". The 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper had been on the club's radar for several weeks.
Martinez was placed at the top of United's wishlist at the start of the summer, but they were put off by the finances involved in a deal. Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir's poor performances have seemingly re-ignited their interest in the Aston Villa goalkeeper.

Emiliano Martinez after being sent off for Aston Villa against Manchester United
Martinez looked to have made his final appearance for Villa coincidentally at Old Trafford last season when he was sent off in a 2-0 defeat. He had emotionally waved goodbye to Villans fans before that game, and many envisioned he'd be sold.
The 32-year-old was immediately linked with United, but the cost of a potential deal for the 2022 World Cup winner wasn't deemed reasonable. That stance may have just changed due to concerns over Ruben Amorim not having a reliable number one.
Tavolieri claims that Martinez's move to the Theatre of Dreams could be aided by Villa's interest in Porto's Diogo Costa. It's previously been stated that personal terms won't be a problem.
Martinez has only made one appearance for Villa this season, having previously been expected to leave Villa Park. He has been one of the Premier League's most consistent goalkeepers over the years and a key member of Unai Emery's side, which qualified for the Champions League last season.
The former Arsenal shot-stopper, dubbed "world-class", made 37 league appearances last season, keeping nine clean sheets. He has four years left on his contract, so the West Midlands outfit is under no pressure to sell for a cut-price fee.

United undoubtedly need a new goalkeeper as Onana and Bayindir have encountered alarmingly disappointing starts to the season. Amorim may be frustrated that he started the season without a capable number one, which has contributed to dropped points against Arsenal and Fulham, as well as a disastrous Carabao Cup exit at the hands of League Two outfit Grimsby Town.
