Alejandro Garnacho takes swipe at Man United in first Chelsea interview after£40m move

Alejandro Garnacho has completed a move to Chelsea and the Manchester United academy graduate didn’t leave on the best of terms.

Ineos have spent all summer trying to offload Alejandro Garnacho after he was named as one of five unwanted players at Carrington.

It took until the final week of the summer transfer window, but Garnacho completed a £40m move to Chelsea to finally put an end to the transfer saga.

Garnacho’s comments after the Europa League final marked the end of his time as a United player. After criticising the team selection in the final, Amorim told Garnacho to leave and now he finds himself representing a Premier League rival.

Once upon a time, Garnacho was tipped for great things at United, but he wasted no time taking a swipe at his former club after completing a move away.

Alejandro Garnacho aims dig at Man United in Chelsea interview

Garnacho’s attitude has been criticised during his time at United, and he never helped himself with his activity on social media.

This summer, Garnacho wore Rashford’s Aston Villa shirt in a move that attracted criticism, and the overarching feeling is that he didn’t leave Manchester on good terms.

In Garnacho’s first Chelsea interview, he wanted to make it clear that he feels he has taken a step up after leaving United.

After confirming his deal, Garnacho also said: “To join the world champions is special, we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here”.

Alejandro Garnacho will return to Old Trafford next month

Garnacho is yet to thank United after completing his move, and his relationship with United fans has completely fallen apart.

With that in mind, his return to Old Trafford could make for a fiery reunion, and fans don’t have long to wait.
