Nottingham Forest 'ready' to up bid for PSG star after initial knock-back

Nottingham Forest have been thwarted in their attempt to sign Paris Saint-Germain wide man Lee Kang-In after making a €30m bid, it has been claimed in the French sports press.

The Reds have already given up on Dilane Bakwa who, it is claimed, won’t be leaving RC Strasbourg and have also been linked with Belgian Dodi Lukébakio of Sevilla as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to add a winger before Monday night’s 7pm transfer deadline.

According to L’Equipe, South Korean Kang-In is open to leaving PSG before the end of the window in search of regular playing time.

That’s led Forest to make a bid for him, offering €30m, excluding bonuses, in an attempt to convince PSG to sell. The French side, though, have remained firm, it is claimed.

Sport Witness reports that PSG have made it clear for weeks that they do not want the player to leave and are refusing to let him go.

That’s despite, it says, Forest’s offer being worth €30m up front and another €30m in potential bonuses – a significant profit on a player who cost PSG €22m from Mallorca two years ago.

The report concludes that Forest are “ready to increase their bid” in an attempt to get their target who has also attracted attention from Fulham, AC Milan and Napoli.
