Aston Villa are showing interest in a late move to re-sign Chelsea outcast Axel Disasi, according to FootMercato.
The Villans have reportedly identified the France international as a potential reinforcement to Unai Emery’s defensive options, with Chelsea ‘desperate’ to sell Disasi before the deadline.
The 27-year-old centre-back has no future at Stamford Bridge under Enzo Maresca and is expected to depart in the final two days of the summer transfer window.
Both Monaco and Bournemouth are also monitoring Disasi ahead of the deadline, with the Ligue 1 club now in talks to bring the Frenchman back, two years after his move to Chelsea.

According to FootMercato, Chelsea are hoping to offload Disasi on a permanent deal before the deadline, which is why they have not yet reached a breakthrough in talks with Monaco.
The Monegasque club are reportedly looking to re-sign the Frenchman on loan, having identified him as an emergency replacement for Wilfried Singo, who joined Galatasaray this week.
It remains to be seen whether Monaco will be able to change Chelsea’s stance on a potential loan deal, with both Villa and Bournemouth eyeing Disasi as a late market opportunity.
The five-cap France international spent the second part of last season on loan at Villa Park, where he made 10 appearances, seven of them in the Premier League.
Chelsea have raked in around £300m from player sales this summer, with Joao Felix, Noni Madueke, Christopher Nkunku and Djordje Petrovic leading the exits.
The Blues sold full-back Ian Maatsen to Villa last summer and welcomed promising attacking midfielder Omari Kellyman, who has yet to make a senior appearance at Stamford Bridge.
Aston Villa have endured a fairly quiet summer transfer window so far, with goalkeeper Marco Bizot and centre-forward Evann Guessand the only two senior arrivals.
The Villans sold Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle earlier this month and are anticipating potential interest in Emiliano Martinez, who remains a target for Manchester United.
