Two new names
Two new names have been linked with Swansea 24 hours before the transfer window closes.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports Swansea and Ipswich Town have had an approach for Man City’s Stephen Mfuni turned down by the Premier League club.
Swansea are indeed in the market for a left-back before Monday night's deadline but it appears the City youngster won't be coming to the Swansea.com Stadium on loan, with Romano adding "Man City trust him for present and long term".
Alan Sheehan is looking to bring in cover for first-choice left-back Josh Tymon, with little in the way of back up for the full-back in the squad. Sign up to the Swansea City WhatsApp service to get breaking news and top stories sent to your phone.
Meanwhile, Football League World report Swansea are plotting a move for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.
Rak-Sakyi spent last season with Sheffield United and Swansea are reportedly keen to bring him to south Wales on loan for the 2025/26 campaign. The Sun report Leicester City are also tracking him as a replacement for Abdul Fatawu, should the Ghanaian move inn the final throes of the window.
Rak-Sakyi, 22, has a contract at Selhurst Park until 2027.
Idah medical
Sky report Celtic striker Adam Idah will complete the second half of his medical with Swansea this afternoon.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers told the broadcasters on Sunday that Idah's move south was "very close" and it now appears Alan Sheehan has got the number nine he has craved.
"I think it's still ongoing," Rodgers told Sky Sports before the game with Rangers at Ibrox.
"It's obviously the club are in talks with Swansea, so obviously not available today. That's the current situation."
He added: "Availability of good players, you always want that. But clearly it's very close. It's not quite there yet but we have to do without him, Adam has scored big goals in games against Rangers and he's not here so we have to focus on the players that are here."
Idah was left out of the squad that played in the Old Firm match on Sunday afternoon and now looks set to be unveiled as Swansea's 10th signing of the summer, with Sky reporting an initial fee of £6million plus add-ons.
Vipotnik
Meanwhile, current number nine Zan Vipotnik thanks fans for their support after he netted his third goal in three games up at Hillsborough on Saturday.
Vipotnik scored the opener in a 2-0 win over the Owls which pushed Swansea up to seventh in the Championship standings.
Idah's impending arrival could raise questions over his future in south Wales but his words would suggest he is happy at the club.
Club legend Andy Robinson feels he should be retained, regardless of Idah's signing.
"Swans got to bring striker in before window shut the squad looking really healthy now but no 9 Is a must for me & VP got to stay it competition for places at the business end of pitch were it matters fingers crossed," he wrote on X.
“I feel great after that, it was a really nice game,” Vipotnik said.
“We controlled pretty much the whole game, and I am happy to score and have an assist for Ronnie because we had spoken about that sort of situation just a few moments earlier.
“With the goal, the pass meant that I could shoot with my first touch and it went in the perfect place.
“We were dangerous in the first half but didn’t score, although we had some good chances, but we improved in the second half and it’s great for the team and the fans.
“I am grateful for their support, it means a lot. When they are happy, we are happy, we felt their energy and it is a great feeling when we have them at our backs.
“It was great to share this win with them.”
