Lucas Paqueta celebration speaks volumes as West Ham shock Nottingham Forest

Lucas Paqueta all but confirmed his commitment to West Ham with his goal celebration against Nottingham Forest.

Paqueta scored an 88th minute penalty just moments after Jarrod Bowen put the struggling Hammers ahead in their 3-0 victory.

talkSPORT reported earlier on Sunday that the Brazilian is set to stay in east London despite transfer interest from Aston Villa.

Villa eyed a loan with an obligation to buy deal worth £47million but saw their offer rejected by West Ham.

Paqueta was then named in the starting XI by Graham Potter against Forest and scored his third goal of the season.

He cooly slotted his penalty into the bottom corner and celebrated by pretending to pick up a phone as if to answer a transfer call.

Paqueta then swiftly pretended to throw it away before he and his teammates celebrated in front of the travelling fans.

He repeatedly gestured to the club badge, but Roy Keane was not one to believe that Paqueta has full commitment to West Ham.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "They all love kissing the badge don't they? Loyalty? Yeah right, he'll be gone tomorrow."

Callum Wilson made it 3-0 in stoppage-time to seal West Ham's first Premier League win of the season.

West Ham are finally off the mark

There would have understandably been some pessimism in the away end at the City Ground considering West Ham's dreadful start.

League defeats to Sunderland and Chelsea, with eight goals conceded across both matches, were followed by a Carabao Cup loss at Wolves.

But a spirited performance in the latter stages of the second half saw West Ham win all three points and climb out of the bottom three.

Bowen found the target with an excellent finish on 84 minutes, with substitute Crysencio Summerville providing the assist.

His goal came days after he confronted fans at the defeat to Wolves, with the club captain issuing an apology on Instagram soon after.

Paqueta's penalty just moments later put West Ham in control ahead of stoppage-time.
