Manchester United youngster Harry Amass is set to join Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan.
The Manchester Evening News reported earlier this month that Sheffield Wednesday were the frontrunners to sign Amass, despite ongoing turmoil at the club.
Amass is now close to completing his move, which is set to be finalised before the transfer deadline.
Sheffield Wednesday have been in turmoil over the last few months due to problems with the club's owner, Dejphon Chansiri. The Owls were handed a transfer embargo for their failure to pay players and staff, but the embargo has been lifted and Amass should receive consistent starts in 2025/26.
United sources have indicated that game time is the priority when considering a loan offer.
After internal discussions and the arrival of Diego Leon this summer, Amass was earmarked for a loan move. Ruben Amorim handed Amass his first-team debut against Leicester in March and the youngster made a total of seven first-team appearances in the campaign.
Amass was named on the bench for the Europa League final against Tottenham. There was a chance he could remain with the first team this season, but Leon impressed in pre-season and Amass is now on the verge of an exit.
Amass was not brought on the US tour because United planned to send him on loan.
