Manchester United are interested in Emiliano Martinez, meaning Aston Villa have a few replacements in their back pocket, lined up should the Argentine leave, TBR Football understands.
The Red Devils are in the market for a shot-stopper, and now Martinez to United links have resurfaced.
Aston Villa don’t want to lose him, but do need a contingency plan in case the World Cup winner does depart.

Which is why TBR Football reveals a few of the options on the back burner at Villa Park amid United interest.
Exclusive: Aston Villa monitoring Stefan Ortega and Diogo Costa
TBR Footballunderstands through chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that Villa have Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega and Porto’s Diogo Costa should Martinez depart.
TBR Football can also confirm that Onana has been offered to Villa by intermediaries, but the Cameroonian is of little interest to Emery’s side.
Bailey states: “Aston Villa are aware of Manchester United’s fresh interest in Emi Martinez. They don’t want to lose him, but I can confirm that they are looking at other options.
“We always knew United wanted a new number one – we know they are talking to Senne Lammens, but he is not necessarily due to come straight in as number one.
“Should Martinez come in, as we previously revealed, United would sanction a loan move for Andre Onana.”

“We understand Onana has been offered to Villa by intermediaries, but as it stands, they have shown an inclination to move for him.
“Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega has been linked, along with Porto’s highly rated Diogo Costa.”
Diogo Costa was previously linked to Manchester United
Costa was, of course, linked to Manchester United during the Erik ten Hag era at Old Trafford.
The Porto captain was reportedly among the candidates to replace David De Gea at United before Onana arrived at the club in 2023.
Why they haven’t moved for him in their search for a shot-stopper in this campaign remains a mystery, but he’s now on the radar of the Villans instead.
