Talks advanced for Crystal Palace man’s exit – Player open to leaving Eagles

On August 14th, journalist Sacha Tavolieri covered OGC Nice’s interest in Crystal Palace’s Odsonne Édouard.

A day later, Nice-Matin reported the Ligue 1 club are optimistic of concluding the deal for the striker this summer. Foot Mercato then dismissed it, explaining that the negotiations have stalled and Nice are looking at other options.

RC Lens have come forward to sign the Crystal Palace man before the window closes on Monday.

That’s according to Sacha Tavolieri, and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report the latest on the striker. He claims ‘advanced talks are underway’ between the Ligue 1 club and the Eagles for the 27-year-old’s transfer.

Lens are looking to buy the Frenchman for £4m and the move is advancing in the right direction.

Luckily for the French club, the former Celtic man is open to joining them. Lens will have to act fast as they have less than 48 hours left to wrap up this operation.

Édouard has played for two minutes in the Premier League this season. The frontman is in his final year of contract, and Oliver Glasner’s side can earn a fee now rather than seeing him leave for free in the summer of 2026.
