Wolves make unwanted English top-flight history after Everton loss as appalling form continues

Many fans will look at Wolves’ current form and put it down to the players they have lost, and while that may be part of it, they are also continuing on the form from last season.

Wolves have now lost three Premier League games in a row, and despite Rodrigo Gomes being confident about avoiding relegation, the form is a major cause of concern.

It is not just this season though. In pre-season, Wolves struggled to win games, and before that, they did not pick up a single win in the final four games of last season.

Making history can often be a good thing, but now Vitor Pereira’s side have set a record that they likely wish they had not.

Wolves have just one point in the last seven Premier League matches

It is not the start that Wolves fans would have wanted this season. They are one of just two teams that have yet to put any points on the board.

The form that Vitor Pereira’s side have found themselves in is nothing short of disastrous.

Relegation rivals Leeds, Burnley, and Sunderland have all picked up wins, and there is a chance of the Old Gold being left behind.

This form, alongside how the Molineux side finished last season, has now culminated in Wolves setting a stat for the very first time, and it is not the history they want to make.

According to OptaJoe, ‘Wolves are the first side in English top-flight history to follow up a six-match winning run by winning just one point in their next seven matches.’

This stat does not just include Premier League history, but it incorporates the entirety of English football.

What it does do is highlight how quickly form can turn around, and fans will be hoping that they can put points on the board sooner rather than later.

There is an international break coming up, so supporters will have to wait a while for their next chance at getting a result.

When was the last time Wolves got a result in the Premier League?

It has been quite a while since Wolves fans got to see their team win, or in fact even get a point.

The last win in the Premier League came in a 3-0 victory against Leicester City back at the end of April, with Matheus Cunha, Jorgen Strand Larsen, and Rodrigo Gomes on target.

In terms of the single point they picked up in the seven match winless run, this came against Brentford on the final game of the 2024/2025 Premier League season.

Marshall Munetsi’s second-half strike earned the Old Gold a point on the day.
