Everton are still looking to do some business before the transfer window slams shut on Monday at 7pm.
David Moyes remains hopeful that Everton can make some late additions in the final 24 hours of the window, with defensive options being eyed.
“Could do (sign more players), but I don’t want to raise all the expectations,” Moyes said earlier this week.
“I’ve been saying all summer that we will be making signings, we will be looking to make signings, and we have done.
“Whether we get anything over the line before Monday night, I couldn’t be sure.”
The Toffees were exploring a deal to sign Victor Lindelof, and now a fresh update has just emerged on that potential transfer.

After Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury, Moyes and his chiefs have been considering signing another central defender.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Former Manchester United man Victor Lindelof, who is now a free agent, emerged as a target and Everton did make an approach.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa have now won the race to land Lindelof’s signature after offering a higher salary.

The agreement is valid until June 2027 plus option until June 2028, higher proposal compared to Fiorentina/Everton.

The 31-year-old will now sign a contract until 2027, with the option of a further year.
Everton could focus on signing a midfielder before deadline
Everton could turn their focus towards a midfield signing after missing out on Lindelof.
Moyes is trying to sign Tomas Soucek from West Ham United, however, he started in their 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest today, so that deal doesn’t look close.
Kobbie Mainoo is also on the Toffees’ shortlist, with the Manchester United star keen to leave on a season-long loan.
David Ornstein has reported that United won’t sanction his exit, though, so that transfer looks off the table, too.
A telling 24 hours await on Merseyside.
