Manchester United have struggled to sell players this summer but have been able to profit from sell-on clauses attached to former stars.
Ineos have left it late in the summer transfer window to clear out Ruben Amorim’s squad of unwanted players.
Alejandro Garnacho has joined Chelsea for £40m, which will help to recoup some of the £197 million spent on four new signings. But the future of Rasmus Hojlund, Antony and Jadon Sancho is still yet to be finalised.
However, while sales have proved difficult, United have earned £25m from sell-on clauses agreed in previous deals, which has provided a healthy injection of cash.
Carrington graduate Andreas Pereira is the latest ex-player to complete a move with a sell-on clause active, but United have unfortunately missed out on any payment.

Man United fail to profit from Andreas Pereira deal
As per BBC Sport, former United star Pereira has completed a move back to Brazil to represent Palmeiras.
When United sold Pereira to Fulham for £10m in 2022, the Red Devils negotiated a sell-on clause for the midfielder.
United had a 20% sell-on fee for Pereira, but the details of the clause mean that United would only earn from any profit made on the sale.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Pereira was sold for the same £10 million fee that Fulham signed him for three years ago.
Therefore, United have missed out on any sell-on profit.
Man United can make over £100m in sales, but not this summer
Amorim cast out five players from his first-team squad this summer, and that has made it even more difficult for United to sell.
With less than a week until deadline day, Ineos are now racing against the clock to bring in funds.
Hojlund is set to leave on loan to Napoli, and an obligatory buy clause of £38 million is set to be included, but United won’t see that money until 2026.
The same can be said for Rashford’s £26m buy clause at Barcelona. Given that Antony wants to join Real Betis, United may have to use a similar strategy to cash in on the Brazilian winger next summer.

Overall, United should raise well over £100 million if Ineos are able to get all their desired deals done in time.
