Chelsea are still said to be keeping an eye on a transfer situation as they look to beat the deadline to finalise their squad.

Facuno Buenanotte looks to be the next, with the creative player expected to arrive on a loan deal from Brighton. Whether Chelsea will strengthen any other areas remains to be seen, and much could depend on exits.

Raheem Sterling could yet depart before the window slams shut, and Axel Disasi is another player hoping to secure an exit. Disasi was linked with the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Villarreal earlier in the window, but interest seems to have cooled, with the latter club out of the question after signing Renato Veiga instead.

If a Disasi does leave, Chelsea could yet dip back into the market for another defender, keeping in mind Levi Colwill is out for the season. According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are now closed to the idea of signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace despite the fact Liverpool are said to be edging closer to a deal.

The deal between Liverpool and Palace for £35million plus add-ons is said to have been agreed, while Guehi has reportedly had the green light to complete the move. But a deal is not done yet, and it’s claimed Chelsea could move if Disasi leaves and a deal is not yet wrapped up.

In the unlikely event Guehi stays at Palace, Chelsea could also look to re-sign him for a free transfer next summer or strike a bargain deal in January. Naturally, though, any chance of a deal will come down to whether - and indeed how quickly - Liverpool get a deal done with Monday’s deadline fast approaching.

Garnacho confirmed

Chelsea confirmed the signing of Manchester United winger Garnacho on Saturday. The Argentine said upon arrival: “It's an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can't wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we're the best team in the world!"

Garnacho was ousted from Ruben Amorim’s plans this summer, and the winger has been patiently waiting for his move to Chelsea, with the Blues promising to make a move once they had completed some key sales.
