Aston Villa have lost the race to sign PSG star Marco Asensio, who is set to join Fenerbahce, according to David Ornstein.
The Villans have had a dreadful start to the Premier League season after a 0-0 draw with Newcastle in their opener, which was followed by consecutive defeats to Brentford and Crystal Palace on Sunday night.
Unai Emery had been desperate to add to his squad ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday evening, but he has now been dealt a major blow after it emerged the club have failed to seal a deal for Asensio to return to Villa Park.

Asensio spent the second half of last season playing for Villa after joining on loan from PSG, and enjoyed a fine spell of form as he scored six goals and registered one assist in 17 appearances.
That form saw him described as "world-class" by Matthew Upson, and Villa felt as if they were closing in on a deal to bring the Spaniard back on a permanent deal from the French champions.
Villa hade made an offer worth around £13m and were confident of finding an agreement before the deadline, but Ornstein has now revealed that the former Real Madrid star has instead chosen to move to Fenerbahce and is currently en route to Istanbul.
