Celtic have joined Rangers in the race to land Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan.

Brendan Rodgers and Russell Martin are both in the market for attacking reinforcements before Monday's 11pm transfer deadline.

Gers had a loan offer rejected for the ex-Chelsea starlet last month.

But Sky Sports reports that the Light Blues have reignited their interest - with Old Firm rivals Celtic also battling it out for his signature.

It's claimed both clubs tabled loan offers, along with French giants Lyon and Leicester City, earlier on Sunday afternoon.

And now the £10million-rated wide man - who spent last season on loan with Sheffield United - has a major decision to make over the next 24 hours.

Speaking last month, Ibrox boss Martin confirmed the 22-year-old was on his radar.

He said: "He is a player I liked at Southampton, we tried to take him there and it didn't quite happen.

"He is a player I liked, and I think the recruitment staff liked, how far that has gone I'm not too sure.

"He is a really good player. We look at all sorts of different profiles that we think can help the team.

"But it doesn't have to be just one sort of profile. Players are very different. We just need the ones with the right mentality who are desperate to come here and we will see where we are in four weeks time."

Meanwhile Parkhead gaffer Rodgers has repeatedly made it clear he needs fresh firepower in the door before the window slams shut.

England Under-21 starlet Rak-Sakyi hasn't featured for the FA Cup winners this season and Palace are open to both loan and permanent offers.
