Mystics at Sparks final score: Washington’s comeback not enough in 81-78 loss

The Washington Mystics lost to the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday, 81-78 at Crypto.com Arena.

If you just watched the first quarter of the game and turned off the TV, I don’t blame you. Washington looked bad as they let LA double them up, 22-11. From there, the Mystics were able to gradually claw their way back into the game and even led by one briefly in the fourth quarter. But in an all-too-familiar storyline as of late, the Mystics didn’t have enough firepower.

Kiki Iriafen led Washington with 22 points and 13 rebounds and Sonia Citron added 12 more points. For the Sparks, Dearica Hamby led with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Kelsey Plum added 18 points, 14 in the fourth quarter to help LA win.

The Mystics’ next game is on Thursday when they host the Phoenix Mercury. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m. ET. See you then.
