Spurs win 'one of our very best games': Iraola

Bournemouth led 1-0 after just five minutes, Evanilson scoring his first goal of the season so far.

The visitors to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium had a number of good chances to extend their lead, but weren’t able to convert, with Guglielmo Vicario in good form in the Spurs net and Cherries unable to find the final finish.

Match report:

That meant Spurs were always in the game, despite largely being second best, and it was a nervier finish than it should have been with Iraola’s side’s dominance.

It was the second victory in the Premier League in a row where the Cherries have won 1-0 but should have scored more, after defeating ten-man Wolves last weekend.

“I think it has been one of our very best games. But I think if you analyse offensively, defensively, how the game has gone it’s a solid performance of a good team.

“But it's true that to be probably better we should have scored [again] because at the end is you had a lot of chances just to score one.

“A lot of times you will regret it. It didn't happen today.

“But the other day against Wolves the same. We were winning 1-0. We have the game, playing against 10 to kill it, to score the second one to have a good ending.

“And today we had to grind at the end because everyone was cramping. Tyler Adams, I think even Adrien, Evanilson, we've had to take him out also because of cramps.

“And you have uncertainty at the end.”
