It has been a quiet offseason thus far for the Oklahoma City Thunder as they have made minimal moves after winning the championship last season.

Oklahoma City has not made any additions to their roster outside of their two selections in the 2025 NBA Draft that they used on Thomas Sorber and Brooks Barnhizer.

Despite their lack of moves, the Thunder did make three major decisions this summer as they signed their star trio of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams to max contract extensions that will keep the core in Oklahoma City for the foreseeable future.

By doing this, the Thunder not only will enter the 2025-26 season as the favorites to win the title but they will likely be a championship contender for many years to come.

Thunder predicted to land Collin Murray-Boyles from Raptors

While the Thunder have elected to not make any moves this offseason and will likely head into the new season with their current rotation already intact, Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley recently released a mock trade that would land them a former standout at South Carolina.

In the trade, the Thunder would send Nikola Topic to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Collin Murray-Boyles.

It would be hard to imagine the Thunder agreeing to this trade as Topic has yet to suit up for them in the regular season after he missed all of last season due to a torn ACL after Oklahoma City selected him 12th overall in the 2024 draft.

The 20-year-old guard also played extremely well during the 2025 Las Vegas Summer League this offseason and the Thunder appear to be excited about what he will be able to bring to their rotation this season.

Despite this, swapping Topic for Murray-Boyles, who the Raptors selected ninth overall in the 2025 draft, would provide Oklahoma City with another solid wing player that would come off the bench for them.

Last season at South Carolina, the 20-year-old forward averaged 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 58.6% from the field and 26.5% from three.

Murray-Boyles is a great defender, rebounder and inside scorer, though he does need to improve on his outside shooting.

With the young forward being a defensive-minded player, he would likely fit well in the Thunder’s rotation, though he would likely have a larger role in his rookie season in Toronto.

Despite this, the Raptors are unlikely to trade Murray-Boyles this early in his career and the Thunder are also unlikely to move Topic this season.
