Premier League champions Liverpool continued their perfect start to the new season with a 1-0 win over rivals Arsenal on Sunday.
Both sides struggled to create clear chances at Anfield, but Dominik Szoboszlai’s stunning free-kick late in the second half earned Arne Slot’s side all three points and continued their 100% winning record so far this term.
Liverpool are the only side to have won all three of their matches, and Slot will be pleased with his side’s start to the season.
Off the pitch, though, it appears that the Reds are set to be handed a huge boost.
According to BBC Sport, Liverpool have agreed a deal worth £125 million to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
The Swedish forward has been at the centre of one of the summer’s biggest transfer sagas, with the Reds having previously had an offer of £110 million rejected by the Magpies.

Isak, 25, has refused to play for Newcastle this season and took to social media to vent his frustration at the situation earlier this month.
Having joined the Magpies from Spanish side Real Sociedad back in 2022, Isak has since established himself as one of the most dangerous attackers in the Premier League.
In total he has scored 62 goals in 109 games for the North East giants, as well as providing 11 assists.
He netted against Liverpool in last season’s Carabao Cup final, as the Magpies lifted their first domestic trophy in 70 years.
The report claims that the Sweden international will undergo a medical on Monday before signing a six-year contract with the Merseyside giants.
As well as becoming the most expensive signing in Premier League history, Isak will also become Liverpool’s sixth major signing of the summer, with the Reds having spent more than £275 million so far on the likes of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike.
