The latest Premier League transfer news on Deadline Day, as Newcastle, Wolves, Manchester United and other look to seal last-gasp deals
Premier League teams have until the deadline at 7pm on Monday evening to complete any incoming or outgoing bits of business. With that in mind. Newcastle United are in ‘talks’ over a £30million-rated deal for Roma striker Artem Dovbyk, according to The Sun. He has emerged as a late target for Eddie Howe’s side as they hunt for final reinforcements.
Dovbyk, 28, is a Ukraine international with 36 caps to his name. He has been on the books of his current club since joining them in 2024 from Girona. The attacker has since scored 17 goals in 45 games in all competitions but his future in Italy is up in the air right now.
The 3AM Verdict:Newcastle United could see Artem Dovbyk as someone to boost their attacking department and replaceAlexander Isak. If he joined the North East club, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch. He is a big, physical attacker who could be a handful in thePremier League. He has scored 122 goals in 273 career appearances so obviously knows where the back of the net is.
Wolves in talks with Josh Brownhill
Wolves are in discussions with Josh Brownhill over a switch to Molineux but face competition from Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, Sky Sports report. The midfielder is a free agent after his exit from Burnley earlier this summer. He has been weighing up his options over recent times and has been carefully considering his next move in the game.
The ex-Manchester United and Preston North End man was a hit during his time at Turf Moor. He was snapped up by the Clarets from Bristol City in 2020 and spent five years in Lancashire. The Cheshire-born man played 211 games and found the net on 32 occasions before heading out the exit door.
The 3AM Verdict:Josh Brownhill would be ideal for Wolves if they managed to get him. He would inject quality into their midfield department. It has been a tough start to the new season for the Midlands outfit and they need some more signings to lift the mood of the fans. They wouldn’t have to pay a fee for Brownhill as well which would be a big boost and could free up funds for other targets before the deadline.
Manchester United make new Emi Martinez move
Manchester United have made a fresh move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on X. The Red Devils have been linked with the stopper throughout this window. They remain interested in him as they look to strike a late agreement.
Martinez, 32, has been on the books at Villa Park since 2020 and has played 213 matches. He has been a good servant to the club but may well leave in the near future for a new challenge somewhere else. The former Arsenal man won the World Cup with Argentina in 2022.
The 3AM Verdict: Emi Martinez would be a smart signing by Manchester United if they managed to get him. He is a safe pair of hands between the sticks and they need a dependable option in that position. Their current options of Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana can’t be trusted and they need someone they can rely on in such an important position.
