Aston Villa will be one of the busier Premier League clubs on transfer deadline day

It’s set to be a busy day at Bodymoor Heath as Aston Villa wrap up their summer transfer business ahead of tonight’s deadline.
Monchi, Damian Vidagany, and the rest of the club’s football department will be working right up to - and possibly even beyond - the 7pm cut-off as they look to strengthen Unai Emery’s squad.
The Villa boss is hoping for at least a couple of new signings. One of those will be Victor Lindelöf, who is joining on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Manchester United.
Jadon Sancho is also a target on deadline day, with the 25-year-old emerging as a strong candidate to bolster Emery’s attacking options.
A move for Sancho is not dependent on Emi Martínez’s future, with Manchester United interested in signing him.
United are understood to prefer signing Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp but could turn their attention to Martínez if they fail to finalise a deal for the Belgian goalkeeper.
Should Martínez depart for Old Trafford, Villa would be forced to bring in a new No.1 - with Lammens himself potentially a target.
In addition to these three potential deals, there could even be a fourth arrival, likely a winger, given Emery’s limited options in wide areas at this stage.
Leon Bailey left on loan for AS Roma last month, following Jacob Ramsey out the door, while Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio both initially returned to their parent clubs after loan spells last season.
Rashford has since joined Barcelona, while Asensio is expected to complete a move to Fenerbahçe imminently.
Emi Buendia has interest from clubs in Europe, specifically from VfB Stuttgart, though Villa rejected the German club's initial loan proposal last week.
In case the right offer is presented to Villa, Buendia could leave, though Emery may be short of options in his position as a result.
Another two deals which should be confirmed today are loan moves for Zepiqueno Redmond to Huddersfield Town and Samuel Iling-Junior to West Bromwich Albion.
