Nayef Aguerd is expected to be the first of multiple deals for West Ham on transfer deadline day.

Aguerd was left out of West Ham’s squad to face Nottingham Forest as Graham Potter’s side finally showed some promise with a 3-0 win on Sunday.

The defender was involved in all three of the Hammers’ previous games, conceding 11 goals in an awful start to the season.

The London Stadium faithful will be glad to see the back of the Moroccan, especially for the lucrative fee they are receiving.

West Ham to receive £19.9million for Nayef Aguerd

Potter will be hoping for plenty more business on deadline day as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging higher up the league.

New signing Mateus Fernandes looked promising against Nottingham Forest, and the Hammers will need more signings like him before the close of play.

Departures are also expected. Lucas Paqueta made a statement with his celebration against Forest, but the likes of Guido Rodriguez will likely leave.

However, Aguerd is set to be West Ham’s first departure on deadline day, as, according to Footmercato, a total agreement has been reached between Marseille and West Ham.

The fee will be £19.9million, and given the Moroccan’s exploits in the Premier League, supporters will be more than pleased with how much they are getting.

Aguerd is set to sign a long-term deal until 2030.

Who could West Ham sign next?

After signing Soungoutou Magassa for £17million from Monaco, the Hammers could still look to sign another midfielder, with James Ward-Prowse out of the picture.

With Aguerd leaving, that could make room for a new centre back, but that doesn’t seem a priority given Potter’s change to a back four.

Jean-Clair Todibo is still available off the bench, and Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavropanos played well against Forest.

The Hammers could also target a striker, with Callum Wilson and Niclas Fullkrug their only options up front.
