£40m star now"wants to join"Man Utd, he has informed his club - Journalist

Manchester United could make a couple of signings before today’s transfer deadline.

The club have made four purchases during the summer transfer window, and could sign a goalkeeper and a defensive midfielder in the coming hours.

Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has agreed on personal terms with United ahead of a possible transfer.

The World Cup winner has now told Villa that he wants to join the Red Devils after the club’s 3-0 league defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, talks are ongoing between the clubs over a separate deal for Jadon Sancho.

Martinez more likely to join United ahead of Senne Lammens

The Red Devils are yearning for a new solution between the sticks. Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir have been error-prone. United need a change before the window closes.

Lammens is a player with huge potential. He made 4.2 saves per league game at Royal Antwerp, with a success rate of 77 percent. He completed 77 percent of his passes with over seven long balls per outing.

The Belgian also saved four out of eight penalties. United have been in constant talks with Antwerp over a possible deal, but they face another hurdle, having not yet agreed on terms with the 23-year-old.

With the transfer deadline approaching, it seems the club have shifted focus to landing Martinez instead. His absence yesterday suggests he is expected to leave the Villans before today’s 7pm deadline.

The 32-year-old has given the green light for the transfer and has informed Villa about his desire.

The Midlands outfit turned down a loan deal for Martinez from the Red Devils last month, and have set a price tag of £40 million. It could be lowered, as the Argentine is now pushing for a transfer.

We believe United could pursue a loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer.
